Dec14

Kevin Cross, President

It’s December, which is the start of my favorite part of the year here in Tampa! The oppressive humidity has begun to dissipate, students get time off for winter break, and Chanukah is upon us. This week at Kol Ami, we are just about to wrap up our Chanukah celebrations. I hope all in attendance enjoyed our “Let it Glow” Chanukah party, Latke Cook-off, and other festive activities. Chanukah teaches us about the importance of faith and perseverance with the strength exemplified by the Maccabees against overwhelming odds. We, as Jews, are consistently forced to overcome unforeseen obstacles, and the same is true during this holiday season. May the warmth of the candles bring comfort, the lessons inspire resilience, and the joy of the season fill our hearts with gratitude. This beautiful holiday holds deep significance for our community, reminding us of the triumph of light over darkness and the enduring strength of faith. I hope that this Chanukah you and your family find happiness in the light of your Chanukiyah.

Mark January 20th at 7:30pm on your calendars for the Kol Ami Prom Night Gala, our annual fundraiser! Join us for a re-imagining of your high school prom night with live music, dancing, food and drinks, plus both a live and silent auction. Tickets are available at KolAmi.org, and I encourage all to consider becoming a sponsor. And please stop by for Holy Happy Hour on Friday, December 22nd which is sponsored this month by your Kol Ami Board of Trustees.

L’Shalom,

Kevin Cross
