Rabbi Rachel Blatt

Meet Rabbi Rachel Blatt

Rabbi Rachel Blatt joined Congregation Kol Ami in August 2019. Born in New York, but raised in Clearwater, Florida, Rabbi Blatt grew up in the Conservative movement and in the world of Jewish education. After completing her undergraduate work at the University of Central Florida, she received an MA in Jewish Education in the William Davidson Graduate School of Jewish Education at the Jewish Theological Seminary in New York. Rabbi Blatt received her Ordination from the Ziegler School of Rabbinic Studies at the American Jewish University in Los Angeles, California. Prior to moving to Tampa, Rabbi Blatt spent 5 years as the Director of Lifelong Learning and Assistant Rabbi at Beth Israel Congregation of Owings Mills, Maryland. She has also enjoyed many summers working at Camp Ramah Darom and Camp Ramah in California.

In every Jewish setting, Rabbi Blatt strives to create an environment where Jewish values are baseline assumptions of behavior, and text study is a way of conversing with thousands of years of family in order to make sense of today's world.

Rabbi Blatt is happy to be back in the Florida sunshine, enjoys singing along to Broadway musicals, and baking anything with chocolate. She is married to Rabbi Marc Blatt, and they have three children, Hannah, Tova, and Rafi.

Rabbi Blatt is looking forward to meeting and engaging with as many people as possible. She welcomes you to reach out and get in touch with her.
