Shalom!

Shana Tova to you and your families! It was wonderful seeing everyone for holiday services! It is such a good feeling when the Kol Ami Sanctuary is filled with people who have become our family. Too often, it is easier to just say, “I’ll do it on Zoom,” or “Why go?” But being together in the Sanctuary is important and a good feeling of belonging to a larger family. I hope we continue to see everyone throughout the year at Kol Ami.

Sisterhood is planning its Annual Paid-up Members Event on Sunday, October 15th. This year, our theme is to restock our kitchen with the many items that are needed to prepare a delicious Shabbat luncheon. These items are in serious need of replacement. We also must paint our kitchen, which has serviced many years of events. To support this important effort, we ask you to make a donation to Sisterhood! Just send us a check made out to Kol Ami Sisterhood, bring a check to the luncheon, or ask the office to bill your account. We hope to see all the women of our Congregation attend this fun event. There is no charge other than paying Sisterhood dues, which are $36. Pay your dues or RSVP at https://www.kolami.org/sisterhood.html

Did you ever wonder how people deal with personal challenges that arise from illnesses? Author Michelle Passon has written a book about her experience with these issues. On October 25th, Sisterhood will have an in-person discussion about her book, “A Consequential Life,” from 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm. Please bring your comments and questions to Kol Ami’s Board Room for a great discussion. To read her book, you can order it from Amazon (use the full title of the book and the author’s name to order).

Thanks to the hard work of Staci Cross and her team, Sisterhood has continued to enhance the Congregation’s Shabbat morning experience with wonderful Shabbat luncheons. I would like to thank Staci and the many Sisterhood members who have helped Staci to prepare, serve, and clean up for these luncheons. Sisterhood will continue to provide these luncheons throughout the year, and we will continue to need your help to do it. So if you are at services on a Shabbat morning, just chip in to help clean up!

Chag Sameach and Shalom!
