Kevin Cross, President

Hello, Kol Ami!

As the newly elected President of our synagogue, it is both an honor and a privilege to have the opportunity to serve our community. Our synagogue has a long and rich history, spanning over four decades. It has been a place where generations of families have come to worship, celebrate, and connect with one another. My family and I have been longtime members of Kol Ami and have served the congregation in multiple different capacities. Kol Ami has been an integral part of my life and upbringing. At the age of 13, I had my Bar Mitzvah at this synagogue. My wife Staci and I were married here. My children attended the Kol Yeladim Religious School, Academy, and had their Bar and Bat Mitzvahs at Kol Ami. It is my hope that you will also experience some of the simchas my family and I have enjoyed here or have an opportunity to pave your own path. As we look to the future, I believe it is important to build upon this legacy and continue to evolve and grow with the changing needs of our community.

I am excited to work with our dedicated clergy, office staff, Board of Trustees, and congregation members to ensure that our synagogue remains a vibrant and welcoming center of Jewish life. One of my top priorities as President will be to enhance our engagement with younger members of our community. As one of the main pillars of our Recharge Committee initiative, we have been developing new programming specifically geared toward young families with children.

In addition, I plan to focus on improving communication and transparency within our community. I believe that an open and honest dialogue between leadership and members is essential for a healthy and thriving community. To that end, please stop by to see me or any of the Board members at services or congregational events to say hi. And as always, please read the Weekly Watch every week, and texts and emails sent from Kol Ami that communicate all that is happening in and around the synagogue.

 L’Shalom,

 Kevin Cross
