Shalom, Kol Ami-

How is it already February? This school year is flying by, and I hope you are ready to buckle in and take a ride with us!  January was a short month for religious school, but we packed in a bunch, a bunch of plants!  It was Tu BiShvat! We were able to celebrate with a seder for the trees!  This is my favorite seder of the year, yes, even better than Pesach! We got to try new fruits and drink FOUR glasses of “wine” (grape juice) with our 3rd-6th graders!  Thank you to Rabbi Blatt for leading this fun seder, which also included lots of singing and some dancing!  SO much fun!

We are now getting ready for our Worldwide Wrap with Brotherhood on February 11th, beginning at 9:15am.  Our 3rd-7th graders will be joining the minyan to learn about tefillin from our Brotherhood and Rabbi Marc Blatt.  Our PreK-2nd graders will get to “wrap” tefillin with a sweet treat, Fruit by the Foot!  It is a great way to introduce this mitzvah to our youngest kids!

Looking ahead, in a galaxy far, far, away, we will be celebrating Purim beginning on Saturday night, March 23rd and continuing Sunday morning, March 24th with our Megillah Reading & Spiel and our Star Wars Themed Purim Carnival!  If you are interested in participating in the Spiel, please send me or Rabbi Blatt an email so that we can get you a part in the play!  We can also use all the help we can get with set-up, running the booths, and clean-up for the carnival! We will also be making Hamantaschen on Wednesday night, March 20th, in the school!  We will invite all our students from PreK-6th grade, so mark your calendars for this fun baking event!

Speaking of marking our calendars, make sure to put April 12th on the calendar for our All School Shabbat on Friday night.  We have been working hard on prayers all year, and we want to show off what we have learned!  We will also have Shabbat dinner that evening, so make sure you can attend!

I look forward to seeing you all at the exciting events we have planned this month!  Join us!
