Shalom Kol Ami!

Welcome back Kol Yeladim! I am so excited to get back into the swing of the 2023-2024 school year!  I am excited to introduce our teachers and the many activities that we have planned for the school year!  Our first day of Religious School is August 20th, so mark your calendar!  The first day will include some introductions, a parent meeting, meet the teacher, and our congregational Open House/Kick-Off.  Can’t wait to join the Circus-themed Open House and all the Magic with you!

Please help me welcome our 2023-2024 faculty! Ms. Lauren Dunayer will be our 6th Grade teacher, Ms. Alissa Chernin will be teaching our 4th and 5th grade classes, Ms. Davina Horowitz and Ms. Jennifer Zimmer will be our PreK-2nd grade co-teachers!  Mx. MK Sinnreich will be returning to teach our Chug and Library programs!  We will also have several high school students as Madrichim (student helpers) in our classes this school year.

I am very eager to get the year started with these amazing teachers!  You will have the opportunity to meet your child’s teacher on the first day of class and participate in an engaging activity, as well as to ask questions.  We have several new families who will be joining us on the first day of class this year, so please be sure to introduce yourself and be prepared for an ice breaker during our parent orientation.  If you know of a family looking for a religious school, please invite them to join us on the first day- the more the merrier!

I also want to share that we have new Youth Coordinators this year who will be planning and working with our youth groups!  Samantha Ruffkess, Maddie & Ari’s Mom, will be working with our PreK-5th graders and Rabbi Marc Blatt, Rabbi Rachel Blatt’s husband, will be working with our 6th-12th graders!  I am so happy to work together with both of them to make this year “magical”!

I am looking forward to another wonderful religious school year for our students and families. Please look for an email from me with more information and a few volunteer requests for the school year.  Education has always been my passion, and I am passionate about continuing our Jewish traditions and passing on our Jewish values with our “Yeladim”, children.  L’Dor v Dor, from generation to generation.

See you soon,

Jennifer Halls
