Spring is here! So is baseball, and Passover is almost over! While this article is appearing during Passover, I am writing it just after the Seders are done. I came across a poem about Seders to the tune of “Take me out to the Ballpark” that is perfect for spring. I must give credit to Miriam Aron of Hadassah who wrote this many years ago.
TAKE ME OUT TO THE SEDER
Take me out to the seder
Bring me four cups of wine.
Put all the food on the seder plate
Symbolically show what our ancestors ate.
All the girls went down to the river
It's there where Miriam stood.
She dropped down the basket with Moses And off he flew.
Then plagues came with a vengeance
Blood and frogs and much more.
Finally, we got permission to leave
But Pharoah got frightened
He started to grieve.
So, he sent his servants to get us.
A great miracle happened then.
The walls of the water came crashing On all Pharoah’s men.
Let's begin our own seder
Tell the story in full
Ask the four questions and we will sing Avadim hayinu l’paroah b’mitzrayim.
Sing along with the songs and
Join in reading the tale
As together we see what happened
While traveling to Yisrael.
I hope you all had marvelous Seders and a happy holiday. Sisterhood is looking forward to our major event of the year for Torah Fund. Terri Hinds, VP of Torah Fund, is busy preparing a wonderful event that will take place on Sunday, June 1 at Kol Ami. More information will be coming your way about this event, but save the date so you will be able to join us. I hope to see you all there.
B’Shalom
