FAQ

  1. What facilities are at the pond? I plan to bring a folding table and some chairs. Others are bringing snacks and water to refill your bottle. There are no public restrooms at the site, but MacDonalds and Walmart are close by and there are public restrooms at Harvest Hope Park, which is a short distance away.
  2. What’s special about Aarans Pond? Some students in a USF Anthropology class made a video about some of the issues with stormwater in Tampa that features that pond https://youtu.be/RFgWnp7YXws?si=JmwuusriLk81FHy0 I have invited some USF students to join us.
  3. What should I bring? Keep Tampa Bay Beautiful is providing trash bags, pickers, buckets and gloves.  If you have any extra buckets or pickers, feel free to bring them but we should have enough.  The gloves they provide are cotton knit so if you have other gloves you like feel free to bring them.  Be sure to bring a water bottle.
  4. What should I wear? Wear long pants, closed shoes and socks.  A hat or sunscreen is a good idea.
  5. What if it rains? If it rains or there are unsafe conditions (e.g., post hurricane) we will reschedule for November or December.
  6. Where can I learn more about Reverse Tashlich? The Tikkun HaYam website can be found here https://www.repairthesea.org/ Rabbi Blatt will lead a prayer and talk about the Torah of water on the day of the event.
  7. How else can I help? Please let me know if you are willing to help!
