Congregation Kol Ami is committed to protecting the health, welfare, and safety of all our members. Everyone is required to follow the CDC's, the various health organizations’, and Kol Ami's guidelines while on synagogue property. The guidelines say you will wear a mask at all times, and you will stay socially distanced.

We ask that those attending in-person services either be fully vaccinated or acquire a negative COVID test within 48 hours in advance of the service(s) attending. While we are not collecting proof of negative tests, we trust that our congregants and guests will follow these guidelines to assure as safe a High Holy Day season as possible. If you test positive or have any of the symptoms of a respiratory infection as listed, please DO NOT attend any in-person gatherings.

Please keep in mind, that if you have any of the symptoms below, DO NOT attend services.

* Fever greater than 2 degrees above normal
* Chills
* Muscle aches
* Runny nose
* Sore throat
* Cough (new onset or worsening of chronic cough)
* Shortness of breath
* Been exposed to someone who has COVID in the last 10 days

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Dr. Steven Specter at  (813)508-4250

Some additional guidelines

  • For In-person services:
    • Masks are required by everyone (over the age of 2), except for the person leading the service at that time.
    • Aliyot will take place at the microphone on the floor in front of the sanctuary.
    • We have published approximate times for the beginnings of each section of our services so even if you just wanted to come for a limited amount of time, you could do that as well.
    • We will not be holding in-person High Holiday Youth Services for PreK through Grades 12; these programs will all be on Zoom. If you are bringing your children to the synagogue, the back of the social hall will be designed to allow you and your kids to be distanced from others and there will be activities for them back there.
    • We will have screens in our sanctuary so you can see who is joining us via zoom and any video honors.
    • If you register for in-person services on some days only, you can also register for Zoom on the other days.
  • If you are not vaccinated, we strongly encourage you to choose an online option for your safety.
    • Zoom services are multidirectional.  You can see everyone who is logged on and we can see you!  It is a great way to be with your Kol Ami family even if you cannot be together in the sanctuary.
    • We plan to have lots of opportunities for interaction.  Break out rooms, signs to hold up, reactions, reflections and more.
    • You MUST register to attend zoom services.  Please read and follow the directions in the email below.
    • Livestream services are one directional.  You watch a feed of our services as if watching a hopefully not so dramatic television program.
