Committees
Kol Ami has a number of very active committees that support the programs and mission of our congregation. We hope that you will find a group or activity that interests you and that you will become an involved member of the Kol Ami family. You can indicate your interests on the last page of the membership form. We encourage you to do so.
The Jay Fink Memorial Library
The Jay Fink Memorial Library provides materials and programming for the congregation, Kol Yeladim Religious School and the community. Located in the Chapel wing of our building, the library collection consists of a variety of materials that enable members to enhance their experience of Jewish life in a relevant Jewish library.

Fellowship Committee
The Fellowship Committee arranges Synagogue Shabbat dinners, as well as the 2nd night Passover Seder meal, and Scholar -In-Residence weekend meals.

Adult & Family Education
The Adult and Family Education Committee coordinates and plans an extensive selection of exciting and innovative programs for all members of our congregation as well as for the entire community. Kol Ami's nationally acclaimed Torah University enthusiastically encourages families - grandparents, parents, and children alike - to come together to study Torah and other topics in concert. In addition to TU classes, the Adult and Family Education Committee plans special events such as the annual Scholar-in-Residence Weekend.

Kol Yeladim School Board
The Kol Yeladim School Board works with the Education Director to set policy for and oversee the running of the Kol Yeladim Religious School.

Ritual Committee
The Ritual Committee organizes Shabbat services, Holiday services, and works with the Rabbi to make ritual decisions.

Youth Committee
The Youth Committee works with the Youth Director, Scott London, who in turn works with the Boneem, Kadima and USY Advisors to develop and supervise the Youth programming for Kol Ami.

Ma’asim Tovim
Ma’asim Tovim is a group of dedicated volunteers who are available to the congregation and their immediate family members in their time of need. The volunteers prepare meals, offer rides, make friendly visits and provide telephone reassurance and other support for all life cycle events

Long Range Planning
The Long Range Planning Committee evaluates and makes recommendations to the Board of Trustees regarding the future needs of our congregational family on a wide variety of topics. These topics include, but are not limited to, Personnel, Membership, Finance, Facilities, Ritual, Communication, Security, Leadership, Education, and Programming

House Committee
The House committee is responsible for the repair and upkeep of our physical plant.

Tot Programming
The Tot Programming Committee plans and runs Kabbalat Shabbat programs for families with children ages 2 ½ - 5 years old

Chai-Lites
The Chai-Lites staff is comprised of volunteers who prepare our synagogue newsletter for publication.

Chavurah
The word "Chavurah" is commonly translated as "fellowship" and is derived from the Hebrew root that means "friend". In this spirit, the Chavurah Program at Kol Ami connects individuals and families to share Jewish life, gain a greater appreciation of Jewish tradition in an atmosphere that reflects personal warmth and an extended family feeling as well as creates a strong sense of Kol Ami Community and love of Judaism. Kol Ami creates Chavurot on an ongoing basis.

College Outreach
The College Outreach Committee sends packages, emails and mailings to our undergraduate and graduate school students.

Publicity
The Publicity Committee prepares press releases, advertisements, and disseminates information about our Congregation to the media and online.

Security
The Security Committee members help maintain the safety and security of the Synagogue for Friday night and Saturday morning services and other occasions as needed.
Social Action
The Kol Ami Social Action Committee;coordinates programs and projects that help others in our community and beyond. Last year, we collected over 100 donations in our second "Chanukah Dreidel Drive" to benefit the Tampa Jewish Family Services. The Social Action Committee is also working on a program to help those in our community that have lost their job or looking for new opportunities.

The Social Committee plans programs designed to bring our congregational family together for enjoyable social functions.

Kitchen
The Kitchen Committee supervises the use of the kitchen and adherence to the laws of Kashrut.

Men’s Club
The Men’s Club is responsible for many activities that support the core foundation of the Synagogue. We are an arm of the shul, providing ushers for services, setting up the sanctuary for the High Holy Days and the Congregational Sukkah. We are a Jewish organization, donating time and money to Kol Ami and others in need – including coordinating blood drives – and leading services on occasion. We are a group of men interested in a wide array of topics, hosting diverse speakers. And we are a social club, hosting poker tournaments, the Congregational Picnic (in cooperation with other arms of the shul), and bowling and comedy club trips.

Sisterhood
Sisterhood serves many key roles in the daily activities of the synagogue. Sisterhood raised the funds, and bought some new tables for the Social Hall. We also paid for some necessary repairs in our kitchen. In addition to sponsoring the Kiddush for Shabbat and Yom Tov on a regular basis, Sisterhood is responsible for sending out Mazel Grams for the High Holidays. Sisterhood has many wonderful events planned this year: Sushi in the Sukkah, Multi-generational Slumber Party, Arts & Crafts Fair, Self-defense class, Miriam's Cup and Pizza night, Sisterhood/Men’s Club Shabbat, Mah Jongg Tournament, Pesach BBQ, Sisterhood/Men’s Club/Kol Yeladim Chanukah Party, Doggie Bark in the Park Picnic & Havdalah, as well as our annual Torah Fund Brunch.
